AXW ‘Mascots’ sketchbook page 

I am a social activist and first class fashion communication and promotion BA (hons) graduand. I am passionate about empowering overlooked and marginalised creatives (specifically within the black community). I have many strings to my bow in regards to my skillset and prefer to steer away from labelling my practice with a title.

My aim is to raise community awareness of topics within the creative industry by starting a conversation and exploring ‘taboo’ topics of discussion in the hopes of shifting perspectives whilst bridging the gaps between underground talent and industry.

I focus on visual storytelling and the creative communication of stories and people I am inspired and motivated by. I am heavily influenced by music as well as my love for fashion and social activism.

Mostly influenced by Hip-Hop, R&B, Neo-Soul, Jazz and UK RAP but my eclectic taste in music means I enjoy all music and enjoy discovering new sounds, artists and DJ’s.

I aim to challenge intersecting societal barriers and stereotypes by harnessing my position as a British-Caribbean woman in the creative industry and system; using this as a juxtaposition within my branding and creative identity, breaking into the industry with a clear mission.
